Makha Bucha Day

Today is Wan Makha Bucha. The holy day commemorates the miraculous event when 1,250 disciples of the Buddha Guatama Sakayamuni travelled to meet with the Buddha with no prearranged agreement. The truths spoken to the disciples by the Buddha included those of having good intentions, not harming others, avoiding evil actions and making the heart and mind pure in thought.
This evening many will gather at temples for a wientien ceremony. Holding candles, they will walk three circuits around the stupa.
